The Georgia Public Safety Memorial Grant: it is for children of public safety officers like prison guard, firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMT who were disabled or killed during duty. The essential points to remember:
Should be legal residents of Georgia
Must be admitted to undergraduate or graduate full-time program in state university or college
Maximum amount awarded is $18,000 per year
The amount covers complete cost of attendance
It’s a renewable program; students need to reapply every year
Georgia's Zell Miller Grant Program:  students pursuing a diploma or certificate in University System of Georgia (USG) institution or Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) can avail the program. Following are the criteria of the program:

Funds are given based on number of hours of enrollment and the school attended by the student
No need of full-time enrollment
At the end of each term, students must have minimum 3.5 cumulative postsecondary GPA
